It's not often that I buy anything for more than £100 but I saved up for over 4 months including Christmas and decided to buy a digital camera. The markets huge and unless you have specific ideas of what you are looking for it's hard to find the best camera. I had £400 max and wanted a camera that used compact flash (because they are high volume cheep cards), took over 2 million pixels and also looked stylish. Voila. The Ixus V was one of the only cameras that fitted all my picky needs. I bought the camera on a Sunday and it arrived by Wednesday. First thin was to charge up the battery, which took a little over 2 hours. Then once ... Read the complete review

After much nagging from my boyfriend I finally caved into getting him this camera for his birthday. I must admit, I am very sceptical when it comes to technology, but so far I am quite amazed with the performance from this tiny piece of kit. After convincing me to let him open it four days before his birthday, he proceeded to go around the house taking photos of everything from the ironing board to the contents of our kitchen bin. We managed to get 40 shots of medium quality on the card provided (8MB). Quite satisfactory, although annoyingly few if you're taking it away with you. I can see an imminent purchase of a 96MB card before long, priced ... Read the complete review

...and I'd certainly have to agree with them! I have purchased several different products from Canon and have always been impressed with their quality, price and functionality. I'm not generally a brand loyal person, preferring to choose whoever offers me the product that most fits my needs. However, this I feel is a testament to Canon as they have obviously always impressed me with their products. But on to the Digital Ixus V.... When I first began looking for a digital camera I was unimpressed at some of the prices and features offered, in particular some of these cameras were extremely bulky and quite dull looking. All this changed when ... Read the complete review

The Canon Digital Ixus v (for Video not 'five' in Roman numerals) is in my opinion a marvel of design. At only 190 grams and slightly bigger than your credit card this digital camera can truly be taken anywhere. On first sight you will fall in love with its sleek, metallic body. It could almost pass as a fashion accessory - it is a must have even if you don't want to take photos with it. Of course the photographers amongst you will want to know what this bit of kit can do. With 2 million plus pixels available to record images the Ixus v fits nicely into the middle of the market. Of course 4 and 5 million pixels and upwards ... Read the complete review

I spent ages looking for a camera to do my photo's justice. I wanted a digital camera that meant i wasn't losing quality im my pics from a 35mm camera. I spoke to people in the 'know' and they advised me for the Canon Ixus but when i saw the Ixus V - i just had to have it!!!! I have just took my first pics of a recent trip to Sweden and apart from the versatility whilst i was away - ie. viewing, editing pictures via the LCD screen the A4 pics i printed of from it are exceptional. The same if not better than professionaly produced and i only have a basic photo printer !!!! The battery life is also good and they are rechargeable which is a major ... Read the complete review
