Great Quality for a pockets sized camera (Canon Digital Ixus V)

Advantages: Small, Good quality pictures Disadvantages: Poor red eye, No protected screen
This is a very good quality camera with superb quality photographson the highest resolution. The battery life is quite good. I have never had a problem with battery life, taking it on days out. However, the only bad thing about the shots is red eye. Red eye reduction setting seems to make it worse for some reason. When the setting is on about 90% of people come out with red eye compared to 50% without red eye reduction setting. The flash is extremely powerful, making it seem as though it is daylight when you take a photo in the dark. What I worry about most is that I will scratch the screen as there is no shielding prtecting it, like on the Fuji & Kodak cameras. The software it comes with is very easy to use. I haven't tried the video feature yet so can't comment on that. It is small so easy to carry around in my handbag. Although I am happy with this camera, if I were to make a recommendation in this price range then I would recommend a Fuji camera, although it is significantly bigger, it has a protective shielding across the screen & much more efficient in red eye reduction. If size is your main concern then this is the one to get as you can't get smaller than this. Summary: |
