The EOS-1D's newly developed 4.48 million pixel CCD sensor (4.15 million effective pixels) is a full 28.7 x 19.1mm in size-with square pixels a full 11.5 x 11.5 microns. With its large CCD sensor, the lens focal length factor is only 1.3x. This means less adjustment and compensation for lens focal length to get the results that you desire.

It seems very similar to the EOS 400D, but when you look carefully this has many better qualities ... one being the twelve megapixel CMOS sensor, the 3.0" LCD monitor, Live View with both AF modes (contrast-detect and passive), and the14-bit processing and RAW, spot metering, improved AF, 3.5 fps continuous shooting (good for motion shots), a larger viewfinder, SD/SDHC storage and a new higher capacity battery - so clearly an improvment from the EOS400D. This camera is fairly new out - so thought i d review it quick so people who are looking to go into the SLR world know just how good this camera really is. EXCELLENT!!! A great buy! ...

The Canon EOS 5D is bridges the gap between consumer and professional DSLR cameras. Its price reflects this, retailing at around 1500GBP for the body. As a kit, it is offered with the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4.0L IS USM lens for around 2000GBP.
