Advantages: Great pictures, Interchangable lenses, Fast shutter speed

Disadvantages: Plastic casing - not super durable, Large size compared to consumer cameras

The Canon EOS 300D (Digital Rebel) is a dream come true for most "prosumer" photographers. Unlike most digital SLR's that come along with obscene pricetags, the Rebel fits the bill for your average guy. The Digital Rebel has a bit of a learning curve compared to most other digital cameras. While most should be able to pick one up, find the on button, look into the viewfinder, point, and shoot - this is not even beginning to tap into the resources this mega-camera offers its owner. My favourite feature this far has been the ultra-fast shutter speed. There is not the standard 5 second lag found in any consumer level camera, it's reduced to 0.3 seconds. This camera is very nice as well for high resolution photos. Currently I am working on a project that requires DPS (dual page spread) background images - and the Rebel delivers more than adequate high-speed action shots for my needs. With the right lenses this can be powerful and produce images that are captivating to the eye. Just be sure to read the manual and you can harness all the power this fine mistress possesses. Overall a great product and I will be using it for quite some time.
