Advantages: EVERYTHING!!!

Disadvantages: little bulky but it is an SLR!!

This is a digital SLR camera.. and it is an easy to use SLR for a novice moving up in the camera world.
Plenty of expansion possibilities and it focuses quite quickly in low light.
It definity give high quality pictures even at a high ISO - which is obviously better as its not grainy looking in low light conditions.

The image stabillizer works very well at keeping those pictures crisp... had some excellent piccies of the kids at sports day this year - motion shots - looked really professional.

Also i recommend the canon speed light 430EXflash - as that works wonders in low light condiotions - obviously as an added extra!

I would also recommend the Canon EF50mm F/1.8 m11 fixed lense as it gives a very sharp image - better than the sub £200 canon zoom lenses thats for sure... and its only ... *drum roll* £60! BARGAIN.

It seems very similar to the EOS 400D, but when you look carefully this has many better qualities ... one being the twelve megapixel CMOS sensor, the 3.0" LCD monitor, Live View with both AF modes (contrast-detect and passive), and the14-bit processing and RAW, spot metering, improved AF, 3.5 fps continuous shooting (good for motion shots), a larger viewfinder, SD/SDHC storage and a new higher capacity battery - so clearly an improvment from the EOS400D.

This camera is fairly new out - so thought i'd review it quick so people who are looking to go into the SLR world know just how good this camera really is.
