I am a complete newbie to the world of DSLRs, having moved into it from a Sony H2. This is the perfect camera for me!

The image quality is amazing! It has a built-in image stabillizer which works really well at reducing the shaking in photos if not using a tripod. Overall the images just looks so professional, having come from the world of point and shoot, it has been a seamless transition. It is an easy to use camera, but so many functions to expand. You are only held back by your own creativity.

I am a graphic designer and so I have used the camera now in lots of different lighting areas etc, from concerts to outdoor shots to action shots (took some fantastic cricket shots the other day and no shake or anything)

I bought the canon speed light 430EXflash after reading a review and it is great for camera shots in low light areas, like at a concert etc. The camera does focus v. quickly in low level lighting already though. I also got a few UV camera lense protectors which have worked out really well.
The cameras 12 megapixel CMOS sensor is beautiful, bright accurate colours and hardly any reflection even in very bright lighting. There is a 3.0' LCD monitor with built-in Live View. The Canon 400D never had this featurea ns this is one aspect that swung it for me.

All-In-all a BELTER of a DSLR camera!

Summary: an expensive DSLR camera for a beginner... but such good quality it is so worth it!
