Canon EOS 450d - a good choice (Canon EOS 450D)
Member Name: poco
Advantages: Lightweight, easy to use Disadvantages: quite large Great for 'in-betweenies'. I have had great fun with this camera. I spent a lot of time researching the options before choosing this one. Although I'm not a professional photographer I work in graphic design and can appreciate a good photograph. I wanted an amateur's camera that was simple to use but could take more advanced photos when I wanted it to and the Canon EOS 450D did not disappoint. The buttons are fairly intuitive to use. It feels solid and durable but is lightweight considering its size. The standard lens it comes with wasn't great so I bought the body only and used a lens from a previous camera. I did have one glitch - One of the spikes that recieves the memory card got bent somehow and the camera couldn't register it. However, it was covered by the manufacturer's warranty and fixed fairly promptly. The display panel is a good size and shows photos well. Would heartily recommend this camera. Summary: good comprimise between amateur and professional
