Advantages: Small, easy to use, superb photos!

Disadvantages: You'll probably need to buy a larger memory card than the one that comes with it.

I agreed to buying a new camera on the grounds that it was easy to use, small enough to fit easily into my pocket and wouldn't be outdated within the next 2 years. After several months of comparing cameras and asking friends about theirs, we settled on the Canon PowerShot A2000 IS. It has filled all my inital criteria and really impressed me with all the added features you can use without any real photography knowledge.The dial on top of the camera makes it simple to choose which setting you'd like and although I usually leave it on Auto, I have tried the others on more than one occasion. Simple ideas like the photo rotating to landscape or portrait depending on the position you are holding the camera in makes it much easy to appreciate the quality of the photo you've taken. The video aspect of this camera is also impressive and has made my Sony Camcorder almost redundent, although you will need a large memory card if you're planning on taking a lot of video footage with it. All in all this is a fantastic camera!
