Canon Powershot A50 ... compact, "go anywhere" all-aluminum body. The enhancements go far beyond just an increase in sensor resolution though, as the images are in every respect superior to the earlier A5 models, and indeed are very much at the top of the 1.3 megapixel class: colors are bright, saturated, and accurate, shadow detail is excellent, and the exposure range is unusually broad. Featuring Stitch Assist Mode, PowerShot A50 allows to link successive frames together to create a single breathtaking panorama picture.
Couple this with a compact body reflecting the design of Canon's tremendously popular ELPH film cameras, and an aggressive price point, and you have a sure winner.

I don't understand why digital cameras aren't coming with good wide angle lenses. A 28mm is necessary for reasonable indoor shots (a 24 would be even better). I bought the A50 over the S10 just for this feature. Controls make sense. I only needed the manual to find . Read the complete review

Whist in Japan last year I decided to look at the new technology and walked away £250 the lighter but with a bargain. The camera is lightweight and a small item but gives fantastic results. The quality is quite fantastic. On the higher quality setting I can store up to fifty pictures but on the lower quality over one hundred and fifty. The only disadvantage is not having a zoom lens, perhaps I should have bought its brother the A5 zoom. Anyway I'm very impressed with Canon products. ... Read the complete review
