Top quality "obsolete" camera - cheap (Canon Powershot A510)
Member Name: TheMarko
Advantages: Extra pics, cheap, good quality, nice options Disadvantages: 30 sec clip, slow shooter Don't be fooled with headline. This camera is not obsolete. Nor will be anytime soon. It is just not being produced any more. I've had this camera for more than a year now, and I must say that it is worth every cent I gave for it . . . 3.2 Mpix is more than enoug for any amateur (such as I am) and/or family usage. I even dropped it few times, and it still works as a swiss watch. Lenses are excelent, there are few that can compare quality of lenses in this category with Canon A510. I have only two cons, and these are: video clip is limited to 30 seconds (but if you use DV camera for clips and Digital camera for pictures this really is NO problem), and other one is a little slow shooter (it takes about a second between click and taking a picture). Also I've used cameras that can be more amateur than A510 - what I mean is: You need some steady hand and a bit of setting up to get extra quality pics - while some other cameras don't need anything at all, just push trhe button. Summary: Quality cheap camera for any family with more pros than cons ;)
