I have used this camera for a while now and I have to say I love it. When I use it in combination with a tripod I can create some great effects, especially landscape and natural world shots. The controls allow me to manipulate photographs at source and then finish the job on the PC.

This digital camera has surpassed my expectations in its all round abilities and value. The Canon PowerShot A590 IS Digital Camera has a full manual capability and as such can offer the beginner the opportunity to set up photographs any way he or she chooses. The photographer can create photographs with specific lighting or effects in the same manner as a more expensive DSLR camera. In this regard for a beginner the Canon PowerShot A590 IS could be a great stepping stone to a more in depth interest in photography.

I've found the real upside to this camera is that for the same price as other digital compacts a lot more features and controls are included. One slight niggle I have about this camera is that its macro mode isn't quite as sharp as it could be but it still does a decent job. This camera is also compatible with CHKDSK for RAW image photography. I recommend this camera to anyone who is looking for a more fully functioning compact digital camera bundled with Canon's great quality.

I am a fan of Canon going as far back as their non digital models and find this model another great addition to their stable. This one fulfills my needs adequately and did so at a good price. I recommend this camera highly as do a lot of the digital camera magazines and web sites.
