Canon Powershot A60The PowerShot A60 can magnify by approximately 7.5x, whilst offering 2.0 million pixels - enough for detailed prints on conventional A5 paper. Canon's DIGIC processor works ultra fast to process all the camera's electronic functions simultaneously, from Auto White Balance to Autofocus. With Canon's AiAF five point auto focus system, any subject in the foreground of the scene is accurately focused even if it is not in the center of the frame. If you want to focus on something further away, you can also override this feature. Canon's direct print function allows you to plug the camera straight into the printer, so you can print without a computer. You can also plug the PowerShot A60 straight into your TV, or import the pictures into your computer and send them via e-mail. The Canon PowerShot A60 is the ideal camera for capturing family activities or for people wishing to explore the possibilities of Digital Photography. The camera allows any enthusiastic beginner to record and share their experiences with loved ones, spontaneously and economically. I spent a total of two years studying photography as part of my HND courses back in the late '80s/early '90s and learned (as every budding photographer must) an appreciation for depth of field, colour temperature, appropriate use of flash, film speed, composition etc and subsequently could not bear to use automatic cameras or cheap, fixed-focus cameras. I'm a photography snob. When digital cameras started materialising several years later, I took no notice. They couldn't possibly match the quality of film. In more recent years I started doing photography for my band websites and album covers but my wife needed a simpler camera to use for her work as an ... Read the complete review

I found it very difficult to decide which digital camera to buy as it is hard to get to see actual photos taken by the camera you are considering. In the end I took a chance and bought this one. It is "only" 2 million pixels but, be assured, the picture quality is great unless you want to blow things up to stick them on a bus stop..... It has loads of features that I have not figured out yet but works very well on auto mode - idiot proof really. As usual with digital cameras you have the added expense of a decent size memory card and rechargeable batteries but at £99 for the camera from Amazon I could afford the camera case as well ! It is bigger than these ... Read the complete review

This camera is a great camera to play with. It has all the extras but at a great price for a 2mp. I like to take upclose Macro shots and it has performed well. I love shooting in the black and white mode. The button layout is very good. I wish it had a larger lcd screen. The movie camera mode is more than adequate. I take it with me on trips and have not had a problem with condensation. I am not sure that moving up to a 3 megapixel is all that important. My next camera will have more optical magnification, but this little camera is just fine at present. The sound playback is not so good but that is very minor I paid 200.00 dollars for mine since the new A70 ... Read the complete review
