Print high quality poster size images with all the incredible detail of 10.0 Megapixels. Crop and trim to create new compositions while keeping your photos extra large and razor sharp. A 4x optical zoom lens gives you the flexibility to frame shots up close or at a distance without sacrificing quality. The large 2.5" Vari-angle LCD twists in all directions - ideal for self-portraits and creative shots at unusual angles. Night Display mode aids visibility in low light while a selectable Grid Line display helps with composition. A useful 3: 2 ratio overlay indicates the printable area for standard photo prints. Canon's DIGIC II image processor manages all camera functions and processes images at high speed for excellent responsiveness and extended battery life. iSAPS is a built-in assistant that uses scene information to optimize camera settings before the shot is taken. Rely on 9-point AiAF to keep even off-center subjects sharply in focus or use FlexiZone AF/AE to manually select a focus point. 21 shooting modes include a full creative zone for manual control and 10 Special Scene modes for tricky lighting conditions including Snow, Beach and Underwater. My Colors allows color effects to be applied to images and movies. A high-speed ISO 800 setting allows you to shoot correctly exposed images in low light conditions without using a flash. ISO 800 also enables shooting at higher shutter speeds reducing the risk of image blur. Safety Zoom offers extra zoom magnification without affecting image quality. Use the Digital Tele-Converter for extra reach on every shot - just like adding a teleconverter lens to the camera. Focus as close as 1cm and capture all the intricate detail of tiny subjects. Shoot extra long 30fps VGA quality movies with full audio. View them on the camera's LCD screen or connect to a TV or PC for full screen playback. I discovered the Canon Powershot range about 5 years ago now after a fantastic review I read on a camera review website I have long since forgotten the name of. Before discovering the Powershot range my interest in photography stretched no further than taking a few shots on a night out when I could remember my camera... this was mainly down to the fact that I'd never really invested any money in a camera (I'm talking nothing more than £50 here) and been disappointed with mostly every camera I'd ever had. When the digital camera really took off about 7/8 years ago I bought a couple which were so unmemorable that I can't even remember what they were now. The ... Read the complete review

I bought this camera early last year after hearing rave reviews from a friend who had the same model. I took the camera out of its box and was surprised at how big it was, I thought it was going to be much smaller, this however is irrelevant compared the sheer quality of the camera...after taking some test pictures I uploaded them to my computer and was amazed at the quality of the pictures I had taken, they really looked professional and I was very pleased with them. The camera has a large LCD screen on the back which actually has a hinge on it that allows you to move the screen so its facing you if you wanted to take a picture of yourself, and also flip the ... This camera holds its resale value! Great for when you want to move up. This camera has been known to sell second-hand at MORE than its retail value! These are well sought after. So if you can find a dealer who is still selling them at their retail value, well done to you. Otherwise you are looking at a second hand one from ebid.net. This compact is heavy, which is mainly down to the fact that it takes four batteries, which I personally think is a distinct advantage. Why? Simply because your batteries in all likelihood, won't die on you at that crucial press of the shutter. The telephoto reach is good and gets even better with the digital zoom, although as can be ... The Canon Powershot A460 is an outstanding camera for the price. It has a 10 megapixel resolution (which you can change if you want to save card space); optical zoon; and a large 2.5" screen that you can twist into almost any position - perfect for taking pictures at strange angles and over people's heads at concerts. It has every setting a camera geek could possibly want, but also has an 'auto' setting which takes care of the complicated bits for you. It can auto-stitch landscape shots and has additional presets for night-time photography, portrait shots and other common formats. Performance in low light is much better than other cameras at a comparable ... Read the complete review

The A 640 Taken it to Oz for the testing, Under water in its 40 metre housing and From Sydney to Brisbane . happy with the results . for a compact camera with 10 MP on image quality and with Video I am amazed. Superb for under water use read the set backs on the housing. for close up nature shots of insects. this camera has out performed some photos taken with close up lenses I have taken with my SLRs. It Takes 4 AA batteries that make this camera ideal for use underwater. Long battery life if you use NMH 2300 Its seems to save on battery life even with Alkaline's. Surprised how long they lasted against my A 70. I could say they seem to last longer. The focus and time on ... Read the complete review
