The PowerShot Pro1 has an 8.0 megapixel CCD for high-resolution printing up to A2. Its Canon 7x L-Series zoom lens (35mm equivalent: 28 - 200mm, f/2.4 - f/3.5) includes fluorite and UD elements to significantly reduce chromatic aberration. The PowerShot Pro1 features a new hybrid AF system, which together with the Micro Ultrasonic Motor (USM) provides quick, quiet auto-focusing to ensure you don't miss that perfect shot. The combination of Canon's unique iSAPS technology to optimize shooting settings, high-performance DIGIC processor for fast processing, together with Image Rendering technology for accurate reproduction of colors, ensures every shot is represented faithfully. Because every shot is different, Canon has made the PowerShot Pro1 incredibly versatile. There are 12 shooting modes - from Manual to Auto (including 2 custom settings), for greater creative control. There's a choice of two color space formats - standard sRGB and Adobe RGB. With a choice of 3 compression rates and 5 resolutions, plus RAW mode for maximum image data recording, you have a total of 16 modes for increased recording flexibility. As well as total compatibility with the complete range of EX Speedlites, the PowerShot Pro1 has optional telephoto and close-up lenses for you to achieve any desired perspective. The PowerShot Pro 1 puts ergonomics to the fore - placing controls exactly where they should be. Its 2.0" vari-angle LCD is bright, easy to read and tilts to just the position you want. The tough, black body fits comfortably in your hand, while a large grip lets you hold the camera steady as you compose your shots. Newest Review: ... History I have been a keen photographer for a number of years and have a full range of cameras, from the instant camera to the SLR. Until last year 2003 I was sold on the SLR and would not consider a digital as they did not offer me the same quality and control and the SLR. Then along came a birthday and some money to spend and my wife suggested buying a digital camera. I thought long and hard about this and did my research and eventually bought a Canon S50 (you can read my review on this camera). This camera was bought as it offered 5MP at and affordable price ? I was not disappointed. On holidays this year my wife dropped the camera and broke the LCD ... Read the complete review
