Advantages: Big pictures, easy to use, comes with a lot of software.

Disadvantages: See last but one paragraph

We picked this camera up on the cheap while in singapore and it has been the best £500 we spent.

We were going to Aussie for a holiday and we needed a camera, so being into the internet and computers and all I decided to purchase the Canon camera. The nice man in Sigapore pointed it out and went on to describe what the little device can do, well to start, the camera takes pictures uses 3.3 pixels instead of the average 2, so that means that you get better image quality. The size of the photo can be huge at 1280 by 1024 pixels - thats a big picture however you can only take a small amount of this size picture. I was quite happy to use a standard 640 by 480 size picture which was very nice and the little camera would give me 200 + chances to take a good picture at the size of 640 by 480.

The man went on to describe other features such as the ability to be a "boring father" by setting up a slide show, with the camera connecting to the TV (all cables included). I had the option to connect to my computer via USB or serial although you would want to go with the USB cable because it is a lot faster. It has great red eye get rid off facilitys built into camera, but of course if you are not happy with the picture you just took why not take a look at it though the screen display and take the photo again.

The camera comes with programs to use on the computer for example bundled in the pack you get a Canon Powershot program to simply view your photos, and also you get Adobe photo shop which will allow you to edit the photo or touch it up.

One problem I found with the camera is the that the automatic mode is set to a default of the bigest pictures possible, you have to go to the manual mode to take smaller pictures but you do not have to change it everytime you use it.

All in all a very good digital camera and well worth a look at.

How do you change the automatic mode then? i have checked the manual, but theres nothing there. My title is only my opinion I haven't much use of other cameras. I understand that not knowing about other cameras I am a little one sided to the camera i own, I know that saying what i said is not fair because of my lack of experience. Thank you for your comment and I shall try and change to the title.
