Advantages: Easy to use, Durable
Disadvantages: Sliding front, No camera case
In my own experience of using this camera, I find that it is fun to use, pleasing to the eye and very durable.
I'm not too keen on the fact that it has a sliding front protecting the lens and feel that if the manufacturers had provided a camera case as standard the camera itself would have looked a lot nicer, but hey, they manufacturers seem to have got everything else right though.
This is the second digital camera that we have bought and feel that it is the best one for the every day person to use; I'm not one of these people that regularly uses one but find that the features are easy to understand.
This camera comes with a rechargeable battery and charger as well as a 32bit compact flash card and a power cord to enable transfer of pictures from the camera to your p.c.
To make this camera idiot proof or rather 'me' proof as I'm no techie, there is a setting on the dial at the top of the camera called 'Auto' once this is selected, the camera automatically selects the correct setting and saves you the hassle of trying to find the one that you want.
The other settings included are:
Portrait Mode
Landscape Mode
Night Scene Mode
Fast Shutter Mode
Slow Shutter Mode
Switch Assist Mode
Movie Mode
Effects Include:
Program AE
Tv -Setting the shutter speed
Av - Aperture setting
M - Manual setting of the shutter speed and aperture
C - enables you to save your custom settings
I also like that it has a hard casing, so that if it is dropped, the camera doesn't break into pieces, which you would find with a plastic cased camera.
Now for the technical side of things:
The camera dimensions are 112x58x42 mm or 4.4x2.3x1.7 inches and is also a 5 megapixel camera.
The rechargeable battery with the rear monitor on will last for approximately 210 images and with the monitor switched off the battery will last for approximately 460 images.
