Review and share images and movie clips with ease on the large high-definition 2.0" LCD. Night Display mode automatically improves visibility when it is dark, while the user-controlled Quick-bright function lets you frame and review comfortably in low-light conditions. Record and playback extended 30 fps VGA movie clips with sound. Analyze fast action sequences by recording QVGA quality at 60 fps and watching in slow motion. Efficient and responsive, the Digital IXUS 700 is powered by a Canon DIGIC II processor. Linking all key camera functions, DIGIC II drives fast auto-focus, outstanding camera performance, quick start-up times and first-class image quality. Like a hidden photographer's assistant, iSAPS uses DIGIC II's power to analyze the scene and optimize key camera settings even before the shutter release is pressed. 14 shooting modes including 9 scene modes combine with a 9-point auto-focus system (AiAF) to deliver consistently brilliant results in every situation. Create exciting visual effects with My Colors by making favorite colors more vivid, swapping one color with another, or making all but one area of an image monochrome. Use the exciting optional 40m depth Waterproof case to capture marine stills and movies while snorkeling and diving, and extend lighting options and your night distance range with the optional High Power Flash. For instant full color photos, connect your camera to any PictBridge compatible photo printer and push the Print/Share button. It really is that easy. With a Canon SELPHY CP series printer, you can even print handy ID photo prints and Movie prints. Canon's ZoomBrowser EX (for Windows) and ImageBrowser (for Macintosh) help you arrange albums, crop photographs and adjust image contrast and brightness. I have owned my IXUS 700 for three years now and have never been disappointed with its performance. I actually have two cameras of the same model, one of which I use as an underwater camera when scuba diving with the Canon WP-DC70 Waterproof Case. In addition to the land features mentioned on other reviews, I rate the IXUS 700 as a cheap digital underwater camera solution for anyone wishing to break into underwater photography. The IXUS 700 was the first Canon model to come with an underwater scene setting which allows even the novice to obtain excellent quality underwater shots. Plus you can use the manual settings once you are ... Read the complete review

I was after a new model to replace my old brick of a camera when some friends suggested I might like to try a Canon Digital IXUS. I was very impressed with the bright screen and the stunning image quality, so much better than that of cheaper cameras (even those quoting a higher image resolution). It's small and light enough to keep in your pocket at all times and is ready to shoot in about a second. Battery life is excellent, with several hundred snaps possible from a single charge. The body can scratch quite easily but the camera, overall, is very tough - mine has been dropped several times with no ill effects! The menus are easy to navigate (although some options may ... Canon IXUS 700 is super but I'm still disappointed because the firmware does not include the battery level. I hope in the future, Canon will include this feature.

The Digital IXUS 700 has an incredible 7.1 Megapixel power and a precision optics 3x zoom. Overall I've really enjoyed using this camera and have found that it gives very good images although I have not reproduced images of more than A3 size. I especially liked the option of looking at and sharing images and movie clips on the large high-definition 2.0" LCD. There is a handy Night Display mode that automatically improves visibility when it is dark. A user-controlled Quick-bright function lets you frame and review comfortably in low-light conditions. You can also record and playback extended 30 fps VGA movie clips with sound (up to 1GB files). ... Read the complete review
