Canon Powershot G11Canon G11 (775 words)

The c Canon Powershot G11 is technically a compact camera and although it s quite a recent model (currently being replaced by the G12), it is alot chunkier than most modern compacts at roughly 2 inches thick. However this is because (generally speaking) it has a far greater number of functions than most other compacts and of course all this extra technology has to go somewhere. What does this camera have? - A built in flash with a hot shoe on top which can be used to attach a flash gun for more effective and powerful flash - 28mm lens with image stabalization - 2.8" LCD which folds out from the back of the camera and swivels (useful if you want to take self portraits ...
Canon Powershot S90Great small camera. (230 words)

Definitely one of the better compact cameras I've owned. It does feel a bit 'rushed-to-market' though, eg: - if you have manual focus selected, as soon as the camera 'sleeps' it goes back to auto focus. - some kind of manual focus 'yes, in focus' light would be good. - the back dial is very easy to move accidentally (eg. it will change settings when you pick it up). - not quite 100% quality construction (bits move a little around the flash area, as well as dial mentioned above). - the front focus ring is useful, but again, not 100% thought through. eg. to change the setting you have to multi-click a button on the top which is exactly the same as the on/off button - ...
Canon Powershot S90Pro featured compact camera (329 words)

control things such as shutter speed and aperture, and being able to shoot in raw format, will enable a much better and more creative picture to be taken. The Powershot S90 is one of a very small range of compact cameras that give you this type of features, normally only found on larger DSLR cameras. For the price of this camera, you probably could get a low end DSLR, but it is often not convenient to carry a camera of that size. Whilst slightly larger than some less well specified compact cameras, the S90 is easily pocketable so you can keep it with you for whenever you might want it. The camera feels well built and looks smart, with a large and good quality LCD ...
