For the price, you can get better. (Canon Powershot TX1)

Advantages: A camera and camcorder in one.

Disadvantages: Not as good as I would expect.

Thhis camera / camcorder, to me, is quite unusual. It is a little bigger than a pack of playing cards, however, it packs a fairly impressive punch for a thing that size. It offers a 10x optical zoom; has a varied angle LCD screen (you know, one of them screens that you can turn around); face detection; 1080i component video output and more.

Its price is around £300, but it isn't officially imported into Europe. So if you want one, you would probably have to by off a site such as Amazon for roughly $450. For me, this price is a little bit above what I would be willing to pay for such an item, as you can get cheaper and probably better quality camcorders / camera from else where.

The camera side to it has a number of modes to maximize its preformance, these include: indoor, snow and night. The picture quality is sufficient, but i would expect better from a camera this price.

Overall, having a camera and camcoder in one is a good idea, and i like the design and how compact it actually is. However, i feel that there are better products out there for this price range.

Summary: I wouldn't reccomend for this price.
