Canon EOS 400D ... interest in photography started a few years ago, and I decided to invest in an SLR to further my ability! I wanted something that would be simple enough to learn from, but advanced enough to have good features - and this camera is exactly that. I bought a bundle from Jessops, which included the camera body, 18-55mm lens and a camera bag, which was at a really good price, not including the £40 cashback I recived from canon at the time! The auto setting is extremely good at capturing the moment, and does save alot of fiddling around with settings, especially if you re a beginner. The other setting features, are also very helpful, and save you having to refer constantly t... Read the full review: A fantastic SLR, easy to use without losing any advance features by Beckyyy |

Canon Powershot A410 ... Canon PowerShot A410 is perhaps not a camera you would consider nowadays, seeing as it has a resolution of a mere 3.2 megapixels, and in any case the A4xx range is already up to A480! However, if you can find one going cheap - I was lucky enough to grab one from the small ads for a tenner - you might be surprised at how capable it still actually is. It takes two AA batteries and SD memory cards, so neither of those essentials will break the bank. Do use high-capacity NimH rechargeables, though, as alkalines don t last very long! The A410 is quite small, if not down in the ultra-compact end of the market. However, it is not particularly slim, so is not really a camera... Canon Powershot A710 IS ... A710, as I like to call it to prove I m on intimate terms with the thing (er, no, not in that way!), is a very, very nice camera. Despite having been overtaken in the last couple of years in the dreaded megapixel ratings - though 7.1 is more than enough for most people with a good lens such as Canon include here - it can still produce some superb results. However, it does demand a little bit of respect, and is perhaps not the ideal camera for someone looking for an out-and-out automatic point-and-shooter. As usual with A-series cameras, the A710 isn t going to win any awards for style, though the dark grey colour scheme is nicer than the silver many of its contempora...
