Canon EOS 1000D ... bought my Canon EOS 1000D around 6 months ago, having never owned an SLR camera before. I was attracted to this model mainly because of its price point, but also the quality of camera that you get for your money. While the EOS1000D doesn t have the top specifications in the SLR world, it certainly give a lot of bang for your buck. While it is tempting to choose a cheaper camera such as the Nikon D40 as a first SLR, the performance and quality of the Canon is certainly enough to warrant the extra money paid. Having used the camera in a variety of circumstances, I can attest to how easy this camera can be to use.. however as your move around the mode dial there are more... Canon EOS 50D ... have had this camera for a few weeks now and I LOVE it!!! I have been using a 350d for the past few years so this seemed like a good step up for me. i bought the body only for £809 and there is a cashback sceme with Caqnon at the moment where you can get £75 back if you send in any old dslr/slr ends at the end of August though. The body is really solid and quite a bit larger than the 350/450 d s, you don t notice it until you put them side by side. I ve been able to use all my lenses on my new camera too so that s always a bonus! The 50d is easy to use once you get used to the dial system. Canon Powershot D10 ... camera went right to the top of my NEED list after seeing just a few shots that my friend had taken, after seeing a few more I had to get it and I have not regretted it! This is most definitely the very best compact digital camera I have seen. Most underwater cameras are very bulky but this one is much more compact. Although it is not like the slimline styles, it still has a very modern, sleek look that is complimented by the lovely blue/silver combination. The battery is fully charged within about 2 hours, it is very easy to use with self explanatory symbols next to the buttons and it has large controls to make it easy to use whilst active or wearing gloves etc. ...
