Canon Powershot SX200 IS:
... turn on the SX200 the flash pops up and you cannot push it down with your finger. The only way to get it to go down is to switch the camera off and it electronically goes in. The positioning of the flash is right where you hold the camera. You do get used to it, but Canon need to give this camera a firmware update, so the flash only pops up when needed. Canon Powershot A420 ... had this camera a few years ago and still own it now, yet it is only used when I don t want to break my other camera! Whilst it is a good, sturdy camera and takes brilliant photos, there are other functions which are not available, which would be useful: the main being that there is no sound or audio capture. This means that while it can shoot video, there is no sound on it, which is rather annoying. Also, the time it takes to take another photo straight after could be improved, sometimes it takes ages. Canon Digital Ixus 960 IS ... bought the IXUS 960 after lots of comparing with other similar cameras from different brands. Its features stick out as it has 12 megapixels, 3.8x optical zoom, 2.5" LCD screen, the ability to take 1024x768 videos (nearly HD!) and has a good processor. The camera is titanium coated - so it looks nice and is supposed to be resistant to scratch. The response time is fast - I have managed to snap pictures of the Red Arrows flying past! The video option is very useful too with 640 x 480 (VGA) at 30fps and 1024 x 768 (XGA) at 15fps. The camera takes MMC and SD cards which is of course a popular option - with cards available cheaply. Canon Powershot A460 ... remember a few years ago I was given this as a birthday present and I was really pleased because I had always wanted a better camera. You will be pleased to note that my profile picture was not take by this camera! The first holiday I took it on was to Florida to Disney, Wet n Wild, Universal / Land Of Adventures, Sea World and Busch Gardens and I think I dropped it at least once in all of them and it still stays strong with a few scratches, so it is pretty tough.
