I am fairly new to using a digital camera, having been brought up with a good SLR for years and years and never ever thought a digital camera could do for me what this one does. it is sooooo simple to use, no faffing about with complicated manuals. the 'menu' is great - so easy to understand and straighforward. there are 'best shot' settings which allow you to choose your 'f' stop (aperture) or for beginners gives you the best setting for your picture, i.e. moving subject, running water, backlit shots, night shots, etc. there is even a b/w setting and a sepia tone setting for more dramatic pics. I love this little camera with its built in flash and red sensor light, (so you can see what you are taking even in the dark) the battery seems to last forever, unlike the first digi cameras where you had to feed the batteries every time you took a picture. You just pop it in the cradle supplied plug it into the mains and it charges within about an hour or two, you can view the pics on the camera itself, a pc screen or it comes with two cable that attatch to a tv so you can view them on your telly too! it also takes mini movies, although I have only tried this out briefly so far. I am no expert on this genre of photography but its simple to use, easy menu is a real delight to me and I hope this helps anyone else that is thinking of buying one. I have checked the recommend button here as I would do so to anyone, but the function won't work and say no to recommend, which is not what I wanted. so YES I recommend it.
