Casio Ex-Z70
This camera is the best camera I have owned. It has many functions and is very stylish. It takes excellent pictures and is very affordable.
As some of you may know it was my birthday on Saturday and my fab husband to be brought me this mean piece of kit.
I have read a few of the other reviews on this product and they just haven't done it justice so I have decided to air my opinions about it.
This camera is ideal for me as I am quite an amateur where cameras are involved and this camera is very easy to use. My camera came as a package : Battery charger, power cord, USB cable, AV cable, Strap, Software, Carry case, 258MB SD card. Purchased from Asda for £130.00 I also got 50 free digital print to use at Asda.
My other two cameras work on AA batteries and they don't last very long especially on a day out. This camera solves that problem as it has its on lithium rechargeable battery and comes complete with the charger it only takes 90 minutes for it to fully charge and has kept me going all weekend.
I think this camera is very stylish, its black in colour with grey and silver features. Very slim and light approximately 3.8"(W) x 2.4"(H) x 0.78"(D) weighing just 4.2oz (118g). Great for in a small handbag or pocket. The buttons are very clear and simple to use.
~~Functions~~
This camera has many functions and settings so I have just picked a few which stand out to me, you can find a full spec on many other sites.
It has a extra large LCD screen (2.5") in full colour so you can just point and click. I have noticed that there is no view finder but I assume this is not needed due to the crystal clear view on the LCD. It has 7.2 mega pixels, 3 x Optical zoom and a built in flash with five settings ON/OFF, Soft flash, Red eye, Auto flash.
Other settings are date/ time, self timer, anti shake.
Easy mode is great for when you are not very confident using technology once you have selected easy mode from the menu and turned it on it is very easy!! If you then go to menu you will find a simple menu with just the basic options (flash, self timer, image size) Then all you do is point and click. You cannot use the best picture function though if you are in easy mode.
You can change the quality of picture and size of all you pictures the lower the quality the more pictures you get on you memory card.
On the set up menu you can choose to change a number of settings: sounds, start up, file number, time stamp etc.
I personally like the sound function you can change the sounds which the camera makes when you are doing different things: start up, half shutter, shutter and operation.
Each have five different sounds or you can have them turned off there is also a volume control. I liked this because I choose a funny noise for the half shutter so when I'm just about to take a picture it makes a funny noise which attracts my children's attentions so they are looking at the camera when I take the picture.
There are 33 preset setting which you can use which saves you changing all the lighting and settings when you are in different locations. These can be found when pressing the BS button (best picture) below are just a few examples.
Auto - This setting is a standard setting once you have selected this you can still adjust the flash settings.
Scenery - Changes the sharpness to hard & high saturation
Portrait with scenery - Enhanced flesh tones
Children - Enhanced flesh tones and a fast shutter speed
Auction - Perfect for ebay records small size images
Of course you can set all of these manually yourself but this was a lot simpler and straight forward for me. Once you have taken you picture you can add a voice over to it by using the dubbing tool, it is very easy and is excellent when using the slideshow function.
One of the fantastic things about having a digital camera is that you can see your picture straight away after taking it and if it isn't what you want simply delete it and take it again. When you want to look at your picture just press the play button and they will appear, if you want to show someone else your pictures you can select slideshow which will save you having to click the button to change to the next picture to access slideshow simply press menu when your in the play mode.
~~Slideshow ~~
I love this function because it makes your pictures look really professional the way it changes to the next picture especially if you are playing it back through the television using the AV cable. You can change the interval between pictures from 1 to 30 seconds and there is also a choice of five effects which gives you different styles of changing to the next shot.
~~Recording movies~~
The camera can also records short movies up to 3.13 minutes with full sound thanks to the built in microphone, you can also play these back on the LCD screen with sound as it also has speakers! They too can be played as part of your slideshow which is fantastic if you have had a day out and used both movie and pictures. When you have downloaded the movie to your computer the quality of the picture and sound is amazing!
~~Voice recording~~
My husband to be was really sweet and recorded him and the children singing happy birthday on my camera so I was able to download that and add it to my birthday folder on my computer along with all my pictures. You can also record reminders on the calendar.
This is much much more than a camera I love it for all of the above reasons. I would definitely recommend people to buy this camera.
