Advantages: Great price, great quality photos and camera

Disadvantages: Slightly over-complicated menu and not the best anti-shake

I should start by saying that this camera is really well made. It has a feel of quality about it, in the finish, buttons and weighting. The lense is good quality and produces lovely pictures. The camera is easy to use and has many functions. Uploading photos is easy (we don't even need to use the supplied CD software) and the charging cradle keeps the camera in a stable position, making it harder to knock it off the desk, unlike those that you just plug a cable straight in. The zoom is perfectly adequate for the type of photos you would expect to take although once you get into the digital zoom you will obviously loose a lot of quality.

Two things of note on the downside, firstly the Anti-shake DSP is not, in my opinion, the best but it does the job most of the time. Secondly is the rather poor quality and slightly over complicated menu, there are a lot of functions on the camera, mainly various different picture modes, but navigating the menu could have been easier.

The many different picture modes can be useful although it may be debatable as too how much difference you will find between some of them but some do improve picture quality in certain situations and it is fun trying them out!

In conclusion, I am a fan of the Casio Exilim's and would recommend this specific camera to anyone who wants a good camera to snap away with on holiday. There are plenty of functions and the photo quality is good. I think that the positives out way the negatives but one thing to bear in mind is that there are probably newer (although not necessarily better) models on the market as we have owned this for almost 2 years!

Summary: I bought one almost 2 years ago and it's still going strong - Recommended
