Advantages: 4million pixels, 3x optical zoom, Very feature rich and user friendly Disadvantages: 10Mb internal memory a little small, Slow flash recharge
This Casio QV-R40 is a bundle full of surprises and you honestly counldn't ask for a better camera at such a good price. This doesn't mean however that Casio have made it out of a cheap plastic, far from it, the camera is made of a metal body and feels very sturdy and of high quality. The resoultion of the camera is just over 4million pixels which is great for those bigger pictures and doesn't take up too much file space on you memory cards. The camera has a built in 10Mb card which is not enough but you can add another SD card in the slot provided. The lens is of good quality and is the standard 3x optical and 3.2x digital. The camera is of a perfect weight and is hardly noticable in a lady's handback or on the gentleman's belt, should you purchase the case. The Casio QV-R40 has a feature which is exclusive to Casio and is known as Bestshot Mode. This is where there are over 25 pre set modes to help you capture the best possible picture, even in the most demanding situations. There is one Bestshot option known as Coupling Shot and this allows you to take an image in two halves, great if there are only two of you and you want to both be in the picture! Casio also strive on the fact that the shutter release time (time from pressing button to image being captured) is one of the world's quickest at only 0.01secs! The menu system is extremly easy to navigate using the 4 directional pad on the back of the camera next to the high resoultion 1.6" LCD screen. The only real grumble I have with this camera is that the flash can take a while to recharge after a photograph has been captured with the flash. The fresher the rechargable batteries are the better. The Casio QV-R40 also comes bundled with 2 x Rechargable AA batteries (2300mAh) which last a very long time, easily over 1 hour depending on flash usage, check the Casio site for a more accurate figure on battery life. It is not advisable to use normal AA batteries with the camera as you will b Summary: |
