pocketable. I my search for compromise, I set my bar to 2 megapixels and optical zoom, under £500 with a reasonable amount of memory. This camera from Casio has all the features that you would expect from a point-and-shoot camera, and quite a few actually useable manual modes as well. While the controls are quite well laid out, the feeling is plasticy and a bit clumsy. The optics are very good: 3x optical zoom, with optical viewfinder; very quick - if smallish - LCD panel. Both viewfinders are actually very respectable, with alignment, scale and parallax of the optical one quite comparable with SLR cameras. A true resolution of 2.1 million pixels (1600x1200) ...

Keyboards? Yes. Digital Watches? Yes. But do Casio make Cameras???.....Yes and very good they are too. This is one of 2 digital cameras that I own/use. The other being my more technical Canon S200. However, the Casio GV-10 is excellent for most applications that I need it for and has several features that you too may find interesting and useful. For me, I enjoy nothing more than some rather adventurous sports and activities. Most of which involve Water, Ice, Sand and dirt.
