Advantages: Relatively cheap

Disadvantages: none that I know of

Just over a year ago I thought I would treat myself to a digital camera. I knew you could pay anything from about £70 up to about £400. I was forced by circumstances to go for the lower end of the price range.

I went to Dixon.s in Great Yarmouth and they were having a sale. I looked around while I was waiting and saw several different makes that helped me little.

When a salesman approached me I told him roughly what I wanted and how much I could spend. He introduced me to some Concord cameras which I had never heard of. Concord I thought, I want to take pictures not fly the atlantic. Anyway I was shown the "new" 3340z model from Concord and the salesman said they had sold quite a few and they were on special offer. I think the normal prce was £149 but sale price was £99. I was impressed.

The Concord Eye Q 3340z 3.1 megapixels digital camera seemed to have all the features I wanted. As well as those mentioned it has a 3x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom, a 1.5 colour LCD screen and resolution up to 2048 x 1536.

It came complete with re-chargeable batteries and a charger, also a mini USB cable to connect to PC and a TV out cable to enable you to show your photos on the TV (It also has the ability to make video clips).

It has a CD-Rom to set up your camera to the PC and various software( Adobe Acrobat reader, Microsoft Direct X 9 and ArcSoft PhotoImpression). Also A quick set up guide and a full in depth manual in four languages. All that and a carry strap and case.

It is easy to operate and I have had perfect pictures since I bought it. The software with it means I can have a photo gallery on my PC. You are able to edit and enlarge or change some features.

I took out an extended warranty on it in case I dropped the camera or it was stolen and that was an extra £25.

I am well satidfied and think it is a great camera for a reasonable price.

Summary: Reasonable price. Easy operation. Good for the not so technically minded.

Not much of an opinion here. Perhaps you'd like to comment on the quality of the images at least? As it stands this gives a potential buyer no real idea of how good/bad it is. There are far better buys around now, from more established camera manufacturers.

Welcome to the site and nice to see useful reviews from a newcomer. Onwards and upwards. I would have liked to have known what the menus were like to navigate on the camera and if there are any special options like taking black and white, but you covered a lot of ground for a new member. If you read around the site now, you will gain a lot of experience which will help you with your future reviews. Good luck. Rachel X

I know I'm a camera novice, but you covered everything I would have asked prior to purchase, good facts and personal opinion at the end @:-)
