So much for so little !! (Creative Videoblaster Webcam Go Plus)

Advantages: Easy to use, Cheap, Webcam and Camera in One

Disadvantages: Not Cutting Edge

I picked up my Webcam Go Plus and set it up in a few minutes one morning before going to work.

At first there were problems with installing the drivers - my PC didn't want to know about the drivers on the CD ROM and said they were not connected to the USB component I had attached (the Webcam).

Undeterred I installed the software, powered down my machine, started up again and away I went - 'New Hardware Found', drivers found on the CD ROM, easy to install !!

OK so its not cutting edge, it doesn't have all the whisles, bangs and flashes but for what I id (£86 incl vat) it is a great bargain - I couldn't believe what I was getting for my money !!

(Tip - if you haven't used Buy.Com they often give £20 or £30 off a first order over a certain amount - so their list price comes down by £20 or £30 - that's what I did !! If you have used them, think about getting someone else to buy it as a present for you !!)

The camera is simple to use, the programs for downloading and manipulating images are intuitive to use (I haven't got round to the instructions yet - too much to keep my hands off the camera !!)

If you are on a budget, aren't a serious camera buff and just want a WebCam that you can take with you the WebCam go Plus scores very highly.

This isn't a camera for an expert or for running off those 'ever-so-important' photos of a lifetime.

What it does and for what it is, it does it well - just don't expect miracles !!
