Although this cam is a little expensive it offers a medium between sleek looks and scalability.

The main selling point of this cam is the fact that it can be disconnected and using 4xAAA batteries it can have a memory of up to 90 pictures at a resolution of 640x480.

Because this camera uses the fast USB interface it can achieve an acceptable framerate and if your processor is fast enough you can expect decent quality at 320x200 at 16fps which is more than adequate for videoconferencing.

The camera's default output is JPEG but this can be changed to raw 16bit and 24bit images however due to the increase in filesize of these uncompressed formats the camera will slow down.

The software which comes with the cam is adequate and it is easy to install. You will get by fine by using the default settings. Before if will let you use the camera it presents you with the question whether you are using flourescent lighting and depending on whether you tick yes or no it automatically adjusts the video capture lens frequency to compensate.

This is a good camera for all round ease of use.
