Advantages: Amazing quality pictures and very reliable
Disadvantages: to many options to go thru (this could be a good thing though)
The camera I would say is the absolute top is the Panasonic DMC-FX9. Why, as this is the first camera that has managed to withstand all the kinds of atmospheres we have been in.
As we travel a lot and my dad absolutely loves taking pictures he needs a camera that is reliable. These are hard to find and he has bought several cameras but all of them have broke as they couldn't cope with the humidity in Thailand or the lens froze in Switzerland. After a long search on the Internet and in magazines he finally came across this camera. We've had it for almost two years now and it has taken pictures in Indonesia, Switzerland etc.. and it still works properly and the picture quality hasn't gone down.
The camera has 6 mega-pixels and 3x optical zoom. It has a 2.5 inch LCD screen that displays impressive detailed pictures. The clarity of the display has been improved to 207,000 pixels, this will allow the camera to show 25 thumbnails on 1 screen. It can make up to 3 high resolution shots per second. The camera has a 512MB memory stick which allows it to take many films and pictures. The design of the camera is slim and not to long. It feels nice in your pocket and doesn't fall out very quickly.
The camera it self is pretty hard to use as it has many functions. Ones you know the basic stuff it is easy and fun to make films and pictures however it would take some time to go thru all the functions on offer and know how to use it. Despite this disadvantage it is a great camera. The camera itself has been in the top 5 best selling cameras in Holland.
The price of the camera now is about 300 euros which is good for a camera which is so highly recommended amongst the professional people and shops.
Overall it is a good camera for the professional like my dad. It doesn't break very fast and the picture quality is amazing however it will take some to find out all the options on offer. The price it is sold for is very good for such a camera.
