Advantages: small, compact, range of functions
Disadvantages: image quality, image size
When I first saw this on the net for 39.99 I thought, yeah thats sounds a good deal. Looked at the resolution of images and the fact it can hold 80 low quality (which actually means SMALLER pictures) and 20 high quality pics (smaller than normal size photos) and thought I would get one for myself. Have had it for two weeks now and if you are thinking of buying yourself a cheap toy then.....go for it. If you care about the quality of your images then DO NOT buy this. It is a toy to be kept in your pocket and used to frame people in challenging situations. It is not for the amateur photographers amoungst us. Here is the low down on what it has given me the abilty to do: - Get pictures of me and my mates whilst out on the lash (very funny shots, but NO FLASH!) - .......thats about it really Here are the problems I have found: - It does not like it if you move at all when u take a picture...it will be very blurry, so a still hand is essential. - If it is too bright then you can see very little of the picture when you download it.. - If it is too dark when you take the picture then you will also see more of a blur than a picture. - The battery life is a JOKE so get rechargeable ones bit quick. - It likes to just stop working sometimes and just loose all the pictures you have taken. - Looking through the thumbnail sized viewer is NOT worth it as it does not represent the area which the camera takes a pic of. To sum up the L'Espion, buy it if you wanna have some fun, not much quality in your images, but want a handy cam for those moments where you just wont be taking out you 350 quid digital camera with viewing screen.

- 10/06/02 I have found with digital carmeras that you get what you pay for. If you want to reproduce photographic images, it will cost. |
