Epson PhotoPC 600The Epson PhotoPC 600 provides a reasonable compromise between features and image quality. Its maximum resolution is 1024x768 and the supplied memory is 4Mb, although this only allows for eight images to be stored at the highest-quality setting. If this isn't sufficient, the camera offers two additional quality settings, the lowest of which has a 640x480 resolution and will allow 56 images to be stored. The camera is fully automatic with a fixed focus lens and automatic exposure with no manual override. As such, you can reasonably expect that you will receive an acceptable, if not particularly exciting, picture. In terms of conventional photographic facilities, there are a few features that you might not expect on a camera at this price. These are panorama, multiframe and zoom modes. The Panorama mode simply alters the aspect ratio of the image by blanking off the top and bottom. Instead of using a zoom lens that allows greater detail to be recorded in distant subjects, the Epson camera simply duplicates pixels in order to cause a small portion of the image to fill up a complete frame. |

Rating:
The Epson 3000 is a manual and Automatic camera. It has 3.34 Mega pixels 34-102 mm zoom lens, a 6cm macro and Compact Flash Storage 16MB supplied taking at best JPG mode about 8 pictures or 1 uncompressed. Other useful features are a Hotshoe on top of the camera for an external flash gun, great for taking pictures that ...
Epson PhotoPC 850Z

Rating:
want an all-pro camera that would bankrupt me, and I also didn't want a simple point-and-shoot which wouldn't give me complete control over the exposure if I chose to. The Epson does both admirably. There are three different exposure modes from full-auto, to program mode (aperture/shutter priority), to complete manual. This should please the professional photographer's needs, as well as the point-and-shooter. This camera is able to produce 2.1 million pixels, and not the 2.9 as quoted in places. The Epson is able to capture, and export exposure information such as shutter speed, aperture, flash, resolution, etc. This camera also has the capability to take ...
Epson PhotoPC 700

Rating:
I've had an Epson PhotoPC 700 for 18 months, which means of course that it is a total dinosaur in terms of flashy features; however I keep resisting an upgrade because it is such a brilliant little camera. It has a phenominal battery life - four rechargeable AA batteries that came with it give hours and hours of use between boosts. If you are sparing with the LCD you can take literally hundreds of pictures on one lot of batteries so you can away for a couple of days without carrying spares or chargers. It takes excellent quality pictures - not huge filesize but perfect for sending on emails or printing on notes and letters. It seems very tough (it has survived a ...
