Fujifilm Finepix 1400 Zoom

I must admit to being a sucker for a gadget, any gadget, no matter how useless, tacky or seedy. However, having splashed out a small fortune, ( @ £2300 ), on a Hewlett Packard Pavilion 900MHz PC, I thought, 'What the Heck', MUST have a digital camera to go along with all the kit. So, off I toddles to various PC outlets, foto shops etc, doing the rounds. I got myself a Fuji Finepix 1400 zoom camera a few weeks ago, because I was in the market for a new camera. My old digital camera was rubbish to be honest - it was 1.3 megapixel (which means the pictures it takes have 1,300,000 different dots in them) bt the image quality was appauling. I saw the Finepix 1400 for £128, including delivery, and after reading round for some reviews I ordered it that very same day. I was looking for a digital camera at the £300 mark, and had a number of criteria - USB connection - Optical Zoom lens - Lens cover - 1.3 Mpixel The FinePix1400 met all these criteria. It has a 3x optical zoom, a clear LCD and excellent build. Because it takes 4 AA batteries it is a little heavy, but this gives it a reassuringly solid feel. When I changed my PC recently one of the free add on's that came with the pc was a FUJI 1400 FINEPIX CAMERA, up until then, although I had seen these digatal camers about I had'nt really paid much attention to them, BUT NOW I AM TOTALY CONVERTED. The camera came supplied with a 4mb smart media card which is capable of holding about 18 pictures on fine resolution, 48 pictures on normal & over 80 pictures on low reolution. Cheap cheerful entry level camera but don't expect miracles. The camera is what I say it is: cheap and entry level. If it's your first digital camera you will probably love it. It's just like a normal compact film camera with zoom and a fairly good close up. With most budget end cameras the package content is pretty slim. You'll find an 8MB card, no case and just a USB cable, software and manuals. USB means a must for Windows 98 or 2000. NT users and Windows 95 users will have to buy an extra to download the images from this camera.
