The FinePix 50i marks the pinnacle of current digital technology, offering superb image quality, a movie mode with sound and an MP3 audio player in the slimmest digital camera ever available! In addition to a sleek silver design, it also combines an audio caption function and the versatility of a cradle for one-step image downloading and battery recharging. The headphones it comes with are not the best and the remote control isn't too flashy but it does the trick. With a 128MB you can have around 2 whole albums. Video player is cool too. It records eighty second bursts and you can get a few of the on a 128 card. Cannot see video very well on the 2" display! On the whole a fantastic piece of kit. managed to snap this puppy up for a cool three hundred pounds when they released the newer version the 50i. What a bargain. No need to read the manual. It is quite intuative! Firstly, I should mention that Fuji was rather pioneering and creative in a fun way to come up with this 2 Megapixel gadget. It didn't do anything particularly better than their unipurpose competitors (namely: MP3 players, "real" digital cameras, video cameras, and digital voice recorders) however it did them all together in one relatively small package. I owned first the 30i model and only had repeated batter cover breakage due to a poorly designed nearly microsopic outcrop of plastic meant to withstand an approximate 3 foot-pounds of outward pressure. But afer watching a few episodes of MacGuyver, I went to my hardware shop and solved the problem with ...

Premium Review Fujifilm Finepix 50i: Snazzy dinky sexy little camera (1053 words)

None finer than Finepix I should first point out that the Finepix 50i is currently only available from Dixons and PeeCee World, neither of which are particuarly my favourite retailer (see my earlier bitch about Dixons), however the features this camera provides at the price in my view makes it unbeatable. The camera currently costs £400, which is steep, until you consider that this little (and it IS incredibly dinky!) beauty boasts a top resolution of 4.3 megapixels (million pixels)- unheard of at the price. It acheives this startling resolution by cheating a bit - it's technically capable of 2.4 megapixels but uses some clever internal ...
