Fujifilm Finepix 6800 ZoomThe FinePix 6800 Zoom can produce a 2832x2128-pixel image file. While offering the ease of a point-and-shoot camera, this digital model is equipped with functions that are of interest to the more discerning photographer. These include a fast 3x Super EBC Fujinon aspherical zoom lens with a focal length equivalent to a 36-108 mm zoom on a 35mm camera, while offering macro capability to approximately 7.8 inches (20 cm). They also include Fujifilm's smooth digital 4.4x zoom. For simple-to-set, accurate exposure in typical shooting situations, the camera has five programmed exposure modes: auto, portrait, scenic, night and full manual. For total user-control, there are three metering modes (average, multi-zone or spot) and 64-zone TTL metering with programmed auto-exposure, along with exposure compensation for accurate exposure under the most challenging of lighting situations. Users also have the option of an advanced automatic or six manual white balance settings that include fine weather, shade, fluorescent 1, fluorescent 2, fluorescent 3, and incandescent. I love taking photographs! I started with a Kodak Disc camera when I was little, and soon progressed to Zenit 35MM, later replaced with a Cosina after it was stolen. When digital was within my reach, I bought my Fuji 4700, this camera was superb, and also looked really cool. People actually looked at me (well the camera perhaps) when I took it out! It developed a small problem, and was still in warranty, but no longer available, so I "traded it in" for a Finepix 6800. This was in June 2001, and over 2 years and 6000 or so photographs later I'm still very proud of it (and I still get looks from people). It looks similar to my previous model (but ... If you are looking for a digital camera and can afford FUGIFILM's Finepix 6800 Zoom then buy it, you will not regret it. It is a quick snapper allowing you to take quick photos so you can capture that embarassing picture. The picture quality is excellent, I took a picture of a publication I created, and i could read the front page from the photo. Not only that it has looks to die for, designed by F.A. Porsche it is really slick. It is a camera packed full of features with a 6 million pixel resolution. All features can be set up manually from exposure compensation, shutter speeds and lots more, you can even do multiple exposures with this camera, so if you ... Read the complete review

Ive wanted a digital camera for three years but I always held back because... 1 the quality of the pictures was fine on screen but poor in print 2 the price 3 the cameras just got better every month or so. Well in recent months the pixel increases have flattened out around the 3 million mark and this is reportedly good enough for A4 prints. The 6800 is in the 3 megapixel bracket. All this 6 megapixel talk is a bit suspect. Notice there is no mention of 6 megapixels anywhere on the camera. I dont think the difference is noticable. I was also attracted to the cradle. Convenience is everything if you are going to use ... Read the complete review

I have been using my 6800 for three months now. It is my first digital camera purchase although I have used several others from time to time. First of all the controls are very well thought out with a wide range of features. There is an auto setting for general pictures and then there are a series of options. You can change the settings to adjust for the light quality (indoor or outdoor and brightness). There is also a 5 frame burst mode that is great for photgraphing kids when you want to catch that perfect expression. The movie clip mode is probably a bit of a gimmick. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has found a good use for it cause I havent. ... Read the complete review

I bought the fujifilm finepix 6800 two years ago when it had been newly released ..I have noticed now that it has gone down in price a bit. Well what can I say...if you are looking for a good quality digital camera that is easy to use I would definately recommend this one. I am an amateur photographer but had no problems taking pics with my new camera...all information is displayed on the screen and you shouldn't have difficulty working it out. Quality of the pictures is amazing most of the time; especially outdoors. However you have to be careful and make sure the subject is not moving otherwise all you get is a blurred pic! I guess the great thing about digital ... Read the complete review
