Advantages: Excellent picture quality, Loads of features
Disadvantages: Handling may be hard at first
If you are looking for a digital camera and can afford FUGIFILM's Finepix 6800 Zoom then buy it, you will not regret it. It is a quick snapper allowing you to take quick photos so you can capture that embarassing picture. The picture quality is excellent, I took a picture of a publication I created, and i could read the front page from the photo. Not only that it has looks to die for, designed by F.A. Porsche it is really slick. It is a camera packed full of features with a 6 million pixel resolution. All features can be set up manually from exposure compensation, shutter speeds and lots more, you can even do multiple exposures with this camera, so if you want to take a picture of your friend sitting on both sides of the sofa, you can. These features should keep semi-pro users happy. If you are new to digicams and are put off by all the features do not worry because the camera has a very good automatic mode in which the camera does pretty much everything for you. This is the mode I use the most and i find it good for just about anything. The finepix 6800 zoom also has set modes for taking a particular type of picture these are: Portrait - for taking pictures of people Landscape - for taking pictures of scenery Night scene - for taking pictures at night Black and White - for black and white pictures If you need to take a picture of an object close to the camera it has a setting for this too. There are various flash modes available including red eye reduction, so no more freaky red eyes in your pics. The flash tucks neatly away inside the camera when you do not need to use it. With 3x optical zoom and digital zoom the finepix 6800 zoom should be enough for your needs. The camera can also record movies with sound in mpeg form or just audio in wav form. If you want to put a voice caption onto a picture, to can do that as well. It does not stop there the camera sits in its own cradle which charges the
camera and connects it to your computer. It has two modes when it is in the cradle, one mode is it acts like a drive on your computer allowing you to do all the regular stuff you do with a drive so basically you have a smartmedia reader. The other mode is it acts as a webcam. When you put the camera in the cradle and switch it on it loads up the correct software for you. Installing the software for the camera is really easy, i got no hassles. The camera comes with a carry case with a belt loop on it and a 16MB smartmedia card althought the camera can take up to 128MB cards. The battery life is pretty reasonable. If you register your camera on-line you can access various stuff from finding what accessories are available to hints and tips. They say you get what you pay for and this camera is well worth the money.
