Advantages: Clear LCD Screen, Good Quality Photos, Easy to use

Disadvantages: Not as good resolution as some of the more expensive cameras

I was bought the Fujifilm A201 as a Birthday present (a present I chose myself from grandparents) and also took advanatage of Argos' Half Price Memory Card offer but I bought the camera on a special offer day, getting an extra 20% off the cost of the camera itself making it around £150 I think.
I have used the camera non-stop since getting it and have found that it indeed does EAT batteries like a savage animal, but I've found that using rechargeable NI-MH batteries gives an outstanding battery life from the camera even when using the LCD viewfinder to take pictures. For example, the camera recently accompanied me and my girlfiend on a two week holiday in sunny Bournemouth, during two weeks of continual use (ie. several pictures a day) the camera only got through two sets of batteries and there was still enough power left in the second set of batteries for me to transfer the pictures to my computer!!!!

The viewfinder is very clear and easy to use and allows you to frame your shot absolutely perfect with an on-screen grid which can be toggled ON or OFF.

The playback mode on the camera is better than I could have imagined, after taking a picture and viewing it in playback mode it is possible to zoom in on areas of the picture and look at them in great detail, although this sounds a little pointless I have found it very useful in determining how well a picture has actually come out by looking at it up close.

The video clip mode on the camera allows you to make 20second long video clips without sound. This feature of the camera is fairly pointless but quite 'gadgety' so it gets my thumbs-up anyway!

I would reccomend the Fuji Finepix A201 to anybody wishing to enter the world of digital photography at an entry-level or just to the general family who might use for holiday snaps like me.

Thankyou for taking time to read my opinion, hope it was useful. :-)

Yes, I would have paid the higher price, even at around £180 it's still a good quality digital camera and well worth the money. Transfer to PC is very quick and very easy, just plug in USB and the computer recognises the camera as an additional drive in My Computer, transfer of a full 64MB Smartmedia takes around 2-3 minutes. Hope that was useful.

Knowing what you do now, would you have paid the higher price for it? How easy is camera to PC transfer?
