Fujifilm Finepix F410

Description: Model ID N073890A / Fujifilm FinePix F410 - Digital camera - 3.1 Mpix / 6.0 Mpix (interpolated) - optical zoom: 3 x - supported memory: ... more
Fujifilm Finepix F410 ... xD-Picture Card, xD Type H, xD Type M / Entirely clad in metal, the FinePix F410 features a sleek, compact, stylishly square body, weighing a mere 195 grams. Its contours fit naturally in your hands, and the controls make it easy to operate with just one hand. Especially notable is the unique power switch: simply pull the sliding grip away from the lens. With a flash of blue lights, the camera instantly turns on.

Compact as it may be, the F410 packs serious optical performance: an f/2.8 Fujinon 35 zoom lens, equivalent to 38-114 mm on a 35mm camera. A smooth digital zooming function offers up to 4.45 additional magnification.

The FinePix F410 features the Photo Mode button, an entirely new concept in digital camera operation. This gives you one-button control over image quality parameters, including sensitivity (Auto/Manual, selectable from ISO equivalent 200, 400, and 800 at Manual setting), image file size, and color mode (Standard, Chrome, and B&W). The Chrome color setting, for example, slightly boosts contrast and saturation for a look that resembles color slide film. When reviewing images, this control can also be used to set DPOF for printing.

The FinePix F410 offers impressive shooting flexibility, with a range of ISO-equivalent sensitivities from 200 to 800. The higher settings enable outstanding fast-action and available-light photography, as well as helping to eliminate camera shake.

Turn on the FinePix F410 and in an instant the lens extends and the camera is ready to shoot. Precise autofocus, intelligent auto exposure, and auto white balance systems assure perfect shots indoors or out, even in low light. Major controls begin with one-touch buttons and the LCD display on the rear panel. You'll enjoy using the graphical user interface, with its clear on-screen menus that make it easy to access any features you need. Manual mode permits adjustment of white balance (7 positions), exposure compensation (-2.1 EV to +1.5 EV in 0.3 EV increments), and sensitivity (ISO 200, 400, and 800).

The FinePix F410 gives you a choice of two continuous shooting modes. With Top-4 Continuous Shooting, you can take up to four shots at intervals of 0.3 seconds. With Final-4 Continuous Shooting, the camera takes up to 25 shots at 0.3-second intervals, saving the last four the instant you release the shutter button.

The FinePix F410 lets you take QVGA-sized movies with sound (320 x 240 pixels, 10 frames/second) of up to 120 seconds long. There's also a convenient Voice Memo feature, so you can attach a sound file of up to 30 seconds to each captured image.

Playback mode allows you to review captured still images and video clips on the high-resolution 1.5-inch low-temperature polysilicon (TFT) LCD monitor. You can choose from a wide range of playback features, including Single frame with convenient 17.65 playback zoom, and 9 Multi-frame.

The FinePix F410 utilizes a rechargeable lithium- ion battery. A single charge will typically give you about 240 shots with LCD turned on, or about 550 shots with the LCD off.

The FinePix F410 is designed around the xD-Picture Card, the new standard in ultra-compact digital storage media. With the compatible USB card reader and PC/Compact Flash card adapters, xD-Picture Card can be swapped freely among a wide range of digital cameras, computers, and other devices.

... can take the camera on holiday for 3 weeks and not need to charge the battery unless you are taking and viewing pictures for a while every day. The battery charge time from empty is about 3 hours maximum. The 16MB memory card is small when you take into account the number of pixels the camera produces. On maximum resolution you can get 10 pictures on it, which isn't enough. I picked up a 128MB for under £30 and that gives me an extra 86, which is more than enough for me. Crowned Review Fujifilm Finepix F410: Quality product for less of that hard earned cash (849 words)
by - written on 30/05/04 (Very useful, 124 readings)
Rating:

As anyone would, I wanted a reliable camera with as many pixels and good image quality as I could get for the smallest amount of money, and as had a relitively small budget to spend this wasn't easy. After searching for cameras for a while I decided that I wanted to spend money on image quality rather than other smart features. After first considering the Sony DSCP92 with 5 million pixels and the Kodak DX4530 also with 5 million, I then spotted the FujiFilm F410 in a local store. After playing with it for an exessive amount of time I realised that this was the camera for me. With 3.1 million effective pixels and a 6 million pixel total recorded ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Another Finepix I've Gotten Into (1522 words)

I recently broke a cardinal rule of mine and shopped at PC World. I noticed in the paper they were having a sale on and I picked up this little camera and its docking cradle. I'm very happy with the purchase and think the camera is exactly what I was looking for - looks cool, small and great quality photos. Intro ------ The f410 is a 3.1 Megapixel camera, but through the black magic of Super CCD, it goes up to 6 Megapixel. Fuji explain on their website that they use more effective pixels that are hexagonal and make better use of light and create a better image. I'm not sure I understood everything it said, but I know the camera gives a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Fujifilm Finepix F410: This one is a smasher! (316 words)

We have used this camera in our family for two years now. Even my partner can use it! It is small but not to small so there are no problems in getting ones fingers around it and the buttons are easy to find and manage. To switch on just flipthe panel on the side over and the buttons light up, the shutter opens and the lens pops out. You can use the display or the viewfinder and both are easy and clear. The flash is powerful enough for a reasonable sized group shot in darkness and as a 'point and shoot' camera, it couldn't get much easier. The battery hangs on for ages and we have had no problem with taking in excess of a 100 photos, ...  Read the complete review

Well ! what more can I say? having read THE SPARKSTERS REVIEW, there is not much left to say , one would think anyway. Let's enhance on this wee cracker. Having had my Fuji digital camera knicked while in Barcelona last June on my 50th birthday, my partner decided he would at last buy his own digital camera. After much speculation and indecision, he spotted the F410. he had thought that my Fuji was a great buy but this seemed a much better model. (cant remember which model I owned) My partner is self-employed joiner and takes many pics of different stages of projects. Needless to say the camera is is some precarioius sites and the wee soul has held up ...  Read the complete review
