Advantages: Compact but not to small, good clean crisp photos and really easy to use

Disadvantages: Fuji provide a tiddly 16Mb card as standard

We have used this camera in our family for two years now. Even my partner can use it!

It is small but not to small so there are no problems in getting ones fingers around it and the buttons are easy to find and manage. To switch on just flipthe panel on the side over and the buttons light up, the shutter opens and the lens pops out.

You can use the display or the viewfinder and both are easy and clear. The flash is powerful enough for a reasonable sized group shot in darkness and as a 'point and shoot' camera, it couldn't get much easier.

The battery hangs on for ages and we have had no problem with taking in excess of a 100 photos, many with flash over a two week period and still managed to download them to our iMac without having to recharge the camera.

The photos themselves are crisp with accurate colour and show little signs of optical inaccurracy. There is a bit of a problem with focus at the edges of the image on closeups but that is not surprising and isn't really a problem.

The camera has a limited number of 'manual' overrides but if that was important to you, this is not the sort of camera you would be looking at.

You can zoom inspect the photos easily and zoom in on the image using the dispaly at the back and the menu system is clear and easy to navigate.

iPhoto recognises this camera without any problem but for PC users there is a powerful software application for downloading and managing your photos.

The only negative I can think of is that the video mode whilst perfectly adquate, is not very high resolution and does not replace a videocam by any means.

Summary: A smashing little camera with lots of very good features and little to complain about

Good summary of this camera. Perhaps some more depth would make the review even more useful. Fuji does make some good cameras these days.
