Advantages: Great life from its 4 AA batteries , Easy to learn and operate

Disadvantages: Uses three different sets of batteries, Battery compartment latch feels flimsy

Taking pictures with this digital camera is very easy, and the results are excellent. You can point and shoot it while using one of several program modes, choose aperture- or shutter-priority mode, or use fully manual settings. The S1 Pro is Fujifilm's first professional digital SLR. Built on a modified Nikon N60 body, it has a Nikon F lens mount that makes it compatible with AF and AI-P series Nikon lenses, as well as various after-market lenses.
Compared to other Nikon-based pro cameras, such as the Kodak DCS 330 and DCS 620x, the S1 Pro is a bit shy on advanced features. For example, it lacks auto-bracketing and auto flash-exposure compensation settings. The features this camera has, however, you'll find readily accessible -- more so than those of the Kodaks. The S1 Pro's menus display on a bright color LCD display and a smaller, monochrome LCD screen; the larger screen also provides a means for viewing images and exposure information when not showing the camera's menu. Overall Fujifilm's menu system just seemed more intuitive to us than Kodak's.
All camera controls on the lightweight body are well placed and logically grouped. This smart design reduces the camera's learning curve. My greatest complaint about the physical design of the S1 Pro is that the latch feels as though it might snap off in a moment of hurry or carelessness - especially a drawback in a professional product.
It has a 16MB SmartMedia card, USB cable, and AC adapter come with the camera. The 16MB card can hold a maximum of 82 images at the camera's lowest resolution settings, it's too small to hold even one image in the camera's best mode. Luckily, the S1 Pro can also use more capacious SmartMedia cards, IBM Microdrives, and CompactFlash media.
I recommend this model to anyone who has the enough money to spend on a digital camera because its priced at around £1500.
