Advantages: Cheap, packed with features, great lens and zoom, plus built-in LCD picture viewer on back
Disadvantages: Low battery life (expires gradually even when not used), not the greatest resolution for a digital camera, a 4mb SmartCard maybe too less for some, but can be upgraded
FujiFilm's MX-1700 Zoom is definetly *the* digital camera for the consumer looking for a mid-priced digital camera with a modest range of features and good looks. The sleek pocket sized silver device is a doddle to use. It comes with all you need; relevant cables, software, power, and a 4mb SmartCard which you can reuse over and over again to store pictures (around 90 moderate quality and up to 90 high quality at a time). The camera is both suitable for Mac's and PC's, and the clear instructions will have you taking basic pictures in no time, and more advanced shots within a few hours. It is an amazing camera! 1.5 Mega Pixels is justifiable to near picture quality, you can't tell much difference unless you're a real camera buff. Uploading, editing, and printing images (.jpg format) is no hassle at all with simple cabling and easy to use software, and the camera itself has a friendly menu driven system. If you're looking for a good camera, but not the greatest, then this is the *only* one to buy! More than perfect quality for the casual photographer, and ideal for emailing to friends and posting on to websites.
