Description: Model ID 40471141 / Fujifilm FinePix 40i - Digital camera - 2.2 Mpix / 4.3 Mpix (interpolated) - supported memory: SM - blue / The FinePix ... more
Fujifilm Finepix 40i ... 40i combines three of the most popular technologies of the moment: high-resolution stills and digital audio playback (MP3), as well as offering an enhanced movie clip capability. In common with a number of previous Fujifilm digital cameras, the 40i is also likely to attract much attention for its remarkably small size and beautiful design. The FinePix 40i is an ultra-compact digital camera featuring the high-resolution 1/1.7-inch Fujifilm 2.4-megapixel SuperCCD. Still images are captured in 2400x1800, 1280x960 or 640x480 and saved in Exif v2.1 JPEG format. It can also record and playback up to 80 seconds of motion-JPEG as 320 x 240 AVI video with sound. The FinePix 40i is housed in a highly durable metallic silver or blue metal body that fits easily into your pocket or purse. When the camera is not in use the lens is protected by a built-in metal lens cover. The 40i is also a very fast camera; it processes and stores even the largest images as fast as you can press the shutter button. The FinePix 40i is true multimedia device and functions as both a digital camera and an audio player for MP3 files. Shown here with the included remote control and ear buds. You can use other third-party headphones that have stereo mini-plugs.

The audio remote control has volume up/down, rewind, fast forward, play, pause and stop buttons as well as an LCD info display that shows the battery condition, track number, volume info, audio mode and playback indicator. The audio system has a 2-level bass boost circuit and playback can be set for normal, repeat all or repeat track. The remote also serves as a camera control. In still image mode it can trip the shutter and operate the digital zoom. In playback mode it can control the slideshow functions. It cannot be used in movie mode. The 1.8-inch color LCD monitor has 110, 000 pixels of resolution and can be used for preview or review purposes. It is also used to change the camera and exposure settings via the onscreen menu system. The 40i also has a small eyelevel optical viewfinder so you can take pictures without using the color LCD. The FinePix 40i is true multimedia device and functions as both a digital camera and an audio player for MP3 files. Just like other MP3 audio players, users can download music to the FinePix 40i via its USB port and playback near CD-quality music. All MP3 controls (play/stop, forward/back, volume) are on a tethered remote into which the FinePix 40i's provided headphones - or the user's own - can be inserted for private listening. As an added bonus, the remote control can be used with the camera to take and then view captured pictures, along with controlling the camera's digital zoom.

... - spares are always useful) but you can go with regular disposable batts so its usable straight out of the box. Also if you get caught short you can buy batteries - although it eats its way through a couple of duracells in no time. Functionality is good, picture quality excellent and a full resolution photo can be printed at A4 size and still look like a wet film photograph (I have an Epson stylus 600 printer). This has been the best gadget purchase ever. You definitely need more storage. I also got the blue/16...more

Premium Review Fujifilm Finepix 40i: Best on the market for the money (362 words)

I purchased this camera in November 2000, on holiday in the States. It cost me 450 pounds at the time. It is my first digital camera, and I was swung towards buying one by the ease of sending photos around the world with email. I was originally considering the Canon IXUS camera and this model. The fact that the Fuji has 4.3 megapixels (slightly more than the Canon) swung it for me. Additionally, the Fuji can capture short movies (as MPEG files) and is touted as an MP3 (music) player. I must say I have used the movie feature occasionally, with no problems, but I have never bothered with the MP3 player so I can't vouch for it. Now to the pictures ...

Finepix 40i On my way back from Edinburgh, I found myself , as usual in Dixons, looking at the digital cameras. I had been considering buying one for some while, but was concerned at the expense of any with enough resolution to be any good, and small enough to carry around most of the time. Then I found the Fujifilm Finepix 40i. Technical Specifications: Don't be fooled by the box advertising this camera has a 2.5 megapixel ccd, and the stated resloution of 4.3 Mpixels is done in software. It has the equivelant light sensitivity to 200 ASA film so is ideally suited to outdoor photography. Taking Photos: Using the ...

Premium Review Fujifilm Finepix 40i: Expensive but worth it (457 words)

This is the second digital camera that l have owned. The previous one was a quite bulky low pixel one and once the novelty had worn off, l very rarely used it. The FinePix 40i is an ideal camera for me and has had me taking more photos in the last five months, than in the last ten years. The camera is so small, that it fits easily into your pocket and can be carried with you, so that you have it when needed. The rechargable batteries last for over 100 photos at a time. (In fact, l dont know how long they last because l bought a spare set and swop them over after use, so they have not yet 'died' on me.) For the 'buffs' amongst ...
