Advantages: Great value, 3.2MP, Optical Zoom

Disadvantages: Large and uses XD memory cards.

###Introduction###

Earlier this year, I fancied a digital camera. I wasn't any photographer, but I decided I'd like a few snaps of places I'd been to.

So, after a few hours of hard research(aka. looking through the Argos catalogue and browsing Ciao!), I came across the Fujifilm Finepix A210.

###Why the A210?###

I heard that on digital cameras you want at least 3million pixels(MP) quality, and an optical zoom.

This camera came with 3.2 million pixels, and a 3X optical zoom+3X digital zoom.

It came with a nice few extras, a wriststrap(still don't know how it fastens onto the camera) and a 16MB card. Oh, and of course it can take short, silent movies.

And of course, it a decent size LCD screen, to view your images on!

And, Argos were having a special offer at the time, £50 off, and a free 64MB XD Picture Card. argos don't stock it any more, but it only cost me £130.

###The Flash###

It comes with red-eye reduction flash, automatic flash, flash on and flash off. I would personally just use the automatic one.

###The bad news###

This Finepix uses an uncommen memory card format: XD picture card, what makes it hard to get extra memory cards at a good price, and almost impossible to get a compatible memory card reader.

Oh, and it's bulky plastic design(it won't fit in an average pocket), but it doesn't weigh as much as it looks, it's actually lighter than a slightly smaller digital camera I have.

Oh, and it gobbles up your batteries after 30 mins of the LCD screen being on.

###It's ease of use###

IAbout average. You may need to have a quick read of the manual and a little play along with the controls, but for everyday use, it's perfect!!!

###Image Quality###

Photos taken turn into large 800k JPEGS, but they don't half look good, when you get them full size on your PC!

###Free software###

Okay, the free software isn't that great, I generally access the camera's memory via. the drive it places in My Computer, and edit the photos using my own copy of Paint Shop Pro 7.

###What it's not###

*It's not a webcam
*It's not very good to take movies with.

###Conclusion###

A high spec, and easy to use start in photography.
