Advantages: Great quality images, brilliant optical zoom, many modes

Disadvantages: Cannot zoom while videoing

Absolutely brilliant camera. Nearly faultless

The camera is a 8MP with a brilliant 4 x optical zoom, which means you probably won't even need to use the 3 x digital zoom. I have taken many high quality close-up pictures with the A820 and when placed on the computer they are flawless.

The camera is also very good for taking moving and night shots. A special mode on the camera allows you to adjust shutter speeds for these very reasons.

There are many modes on the camera, and you will always be able to find one which is right for you. Those of you (like me) who do not have a steady hand can use the 'Picture Stabilization' mode.

The camera also takes surprisingly high quality video for a camera. The only disadvantage of this is, whilst videoing you cannot adjust the zoom - unfortunately it has to be done beforehand.

Summary: Altogether the A820 is a very cheap and effective camera, I highly recommend it.
