Advantages: PS, great ISO range 12,000 although obviuosly noisey at max.

Disadvantages: battery

I bought this camera last May 2008 before going on holiday to Europe. my previous Fuji (F700 had give excellent service but the screen was quite hard to read for my aging eyes). Any way the f100FD has lived up to the Fuji reputation of being able to prodcue photos in the most difficult situations. One of my particular likes is the setting called museum, where it uses no flash or noise to take shots, and appropriate ISO settings. It works a treat in places where you don't want to know people are being photographed. I bought the camera prior to reading a thorough review (only owners which were very positive) in dpreview website. Recently dpreview did a comparison of this camera, to others from Canon, Panasonic, Nikon, etc and the Fuji was the winner. the only slight negative i have about the camera is that the batterty does not have a great capacity, but you can't have that and pocketablity.

Summary: worth every penny

I could not imagine running my professional photography business with one of these, so I need DSLR`s as does anyone serious about photography.

Compacts like this are getting better but they are still far too limited! - Colin (guide for photography)!

Horsdes for courses I think, there's no way that I'd trade my Nikon D-SLR in for one of these! Richard.
