Advantages: Very high quality, good battery life, good flash & close ups

Disadvantages: Bad photos if wrong settings are used, No protective case

FujiFilm Finepix F40FD.

This camera is amazing. I bought it around 12 months ago and never looked back. It takes crystal clear photos even in low light and has a really powerful zoom feature.

The camera comes in silver with some black parts on the rear, two lenses that zoom out on the front side and a number of buttons on the back. It doesn't come with a protective case but it does come with all of the software and drivers for uploading photos to your computer. It also has a 2.5 inch LCD screen which is very clear and bright.

The camera has many different function modes for taking your photos, these are: Auto, Natural Light, Manual, Image Stabilisation, Self Portrait and Video. I find the Image Stabilisation mode the easiest and it takes the best photos. The macro feature can be used on all of the modes, giving you excellent quality close ups and the flash is also very powerful, without being too glary or too dull.

The battery life is also extremly good, it takes around 300 photos before the battery will need charging. It uses a lithium-ion battery instead of AA/AAA batteries, making it much longer lasting.

The photos do come out very well, they can be grainy though if you don't set the camera up properly and use the wrong mode for the wrong situation. It won't take the most professional photo in the world as it's only really a snap-shot camera but the photos are excellent, they're not low quality at all.

When I bought mine it cost me just shy of £100 brand new, although the price has dropped significantly now. They can be picked up for £60-£80 which is amazing for the precision of the camera and quality of the photos.

If you're looking for a very high quality snap-shot camera but without the high quality price tag, you've found it.

Summary: A very high quality camera, recommended by me
