Advantages: Robust metal body, easy to use, fast power on, good price
Disadvantages: Could do with a viewfinder as well as the LCD screen
For a use anywhere camera, this is ideal, its solid, compact with a host of features that allows the novice to produce quality photos in all situations.
The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was its modern styling, and how it's so slim that it discreetly fits into a breast pocket.
Start up time is very fast although you have to be wary of the zoom lens that pops out on switch on. The lcd screen is massive allowing you to compose your photo much better than the usual small screens, however it can be difficult to see in some light, a viewfinder would be an advantage.
The special mode switch has some useful settings including night, museum, portrait, landscape, sport, snow and close up as well as automatic. Flash mode is easily set to auto, forced, background, red eye or supressed.
Personally I prefer the rechargable li-on battery to the AA's and the charge life of this camera's battery is perfectly adequate, although it may be wise to purchase a second for holiday times away from a charging point.
To sum up, I found this camera to be ideal for my everyday uses and at an affordable price. I'm still finding different settings to play with. Highly recommended
