If You Want a Bad Digital Camera, Look No Further! (Fujifilm Finepix F480)

Advantages: It takes batteries, turns on, and sometimes the pictures turn out

Disadvantages: Blurry pictures, Overly difficult-to-use features, Bad Cables etc..

When it comes to Digital Camera's i'm completely inept. All I want to know is...Do they take good pictures? Are the buttons easy to figure out? Can some random person use it without that bewildered look on they're face, when I say "Hey can you take a picture of my friends and me?"

I got this camera "on sale" at Circuit City because the salesman told me I would have none of the above issues. I'm sad to say that he was a little off. The picture quality on the screen is well, to be nice i'd say "OK"....to be mean i'd say "crap".

The scrolling you have to do in order to access all the various extra functions is a bit like finding a needle in a haystack. I keep going on and on looking ....Do I press this to make it go into the detailed focus, or do I press this? Inexpliciably, I end up pressing the wrong key and have even erased some pictures on accident (eeek!).

I understand this is a "value" purchase and is not going to knock any professional picture takers socks off, but it should at least semi-impress an average Joe picture taker. The usb cable connection seems a little fickle, and the pictures themselves can come out blurry. The flash only seems to work during the daylight

Sidenote: Aren't flashes for darkness? I mean maybe i'm wrong but that's what I thought they were for??

In my humble opinion, I would only buy this if you found it at a garage sale, or on Ebay for about 10 bucks as a back up to your backup Digital Camera. In essence, it's 3rd or possibly 4th rate. =)

Summary: This camera has no real redeeming qualities and is not one that you will want to spend any money on
