      Great all rounder from Fuji

I bought this camera as a walk around when the SLR would be too cumbersome.
Reason for buying was the ability to use full manual control when needed but I have to admit the pre-set modes are well worth using.
With very little, but still noticeable distortion at the wide end This camera more than makes up for it with the large zoom.
Very pocket-able, this camera is light and small but is so easy to use and not fiddly even for someone with big hands, something a lot of smaller cameras fall down on.

Whereas it works well in most conditions, the ability to up the ISO/ASA is invaluable in low light.
One feature I found stunning was the pet detection - point the camera, press the shutter and the photo will not take until both dog/cats eyes are in focus - you try doing that manually with EVF and a hyperactive springer spaniel!

All round, very pleased with this purchase, in fact its made me a bit lazy about carrying round the SLR

Great camera for art students and photography people, not good for general everyday use

My granddad let me borrow this camera after hearing him going on about how amazing it was, when it was time to give it back, he gave me my own one! I'd previously owned a Fujifilm JX530 (which i've also reviewed), which I still keep for nights out as I don't want to risk losing this new one (I had another JX530 before my other one which a very drunk me lost in a club so had to get a new one!).

I don't really know anything technical about cameras (but these are always in descriptions online to compare). I am so happy my granddad bought this camera for me, it picks up colour and fine details extremely well and the zoom is incredible, I have managed to take very good close up pictures of bugs whilst already being as close as I possibly could be. I carry this camera with me at times because I'm an art student and it's great for taking pictures for inspiration, especially with such great quality and saves me lugging my DSLR around.

You can also take short videos which are HD and have great sound quality, which lets a lot of other cameras down. Another great point about this camera is it as a rechargeable battery, most cameras do these days but it's much better than constantly having to change batteries! The battery doesn't take long to charge and I've found that it can last for a few days even with a lot of usage, I'm amazed by how long it lasts, especially considering how good the screen is.

This is qute heavy for a digital camera but I'm guessing that's because it has a fairly large zoom lense. However the weight does feel good in my hands, I know some people are scared about manhandling the more lightweight ones but I am scared of dropping this one much more because of the weight... which I have actaully done once or twice but not from a great height and it has been fine.

There are so many great features about this camera that I know I haven't even discovered too! The camera is pricey but well worth it, I don't recommend taking it out when clubbing or on holiday but for taking a good quality pictures without having to carry a DSLR around. I'd say the quality of the pictures taken with this Fujifilm is definitely as good as some DSLR cameras out there too but like I said I don't know all the technical camera things so make sure you look at them before buying.

I would recommend this camera to art students or people interested in photography and not to people who are looking for a camera to take pictures when out or clubbing (you should go for something cheaper)!
